Position Summary:

Bridgestone is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Retail Store Systems Analyst within the Retail Store Systems group, which supports 2,200 corporate owned Automotive Service Centers. This position is responsible for working with business partners, developers and other IT Professionals to assist in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including the design, development, and deployment of strategic project and maintenance solutions.

This position will work closely with business owners, developers and Windows administrators to translate the business/functional requirements into technical specifications that drive code to meet functional and non-functional requirements. Additional responsibilities require advanced incident/problem management skills to assist in problem solving issues related to In-Store systems including a custom built Point-of-Sale application.

The position requires good planning, organizational and communication skills to drive both the needs of the Business and IT. The ideal candidate will possess the critical thinking skills to help lead, grow and develop the team as well as serve as a leader within BSA IT.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with business owners to help gather requirements for Store Systems enhancements.

  • Work with the developers to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.

  • Work with developers and business owners to architect the solutions for new enhancements and defects.

  • Work with managed service groups (QA and Release Management) to make sure enhancements and bug fixes are being delivered on time and on budget.

  • Assist the Tier 2 Support Staff with both business and technical issues that are escalated from the Help Desk, field associates and the Store Support Center.

  • Act as the liaison between the business and technical experts to communicate issues and project updates.

  • Focus on continuous improvement of the procedures and policies to update and maintain all of the components of the store systems environment.

  • Support Agile/Scrum processes as a scrum team/sprint resource

  • Help manage the portfolio of work in the Store Systems group to provide a clear roadmap of strategic and maintenance projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or a minimum of 5 years of Retail IT or Retail Automotive Aftermarket experience

  • Ability to interact with developers in multiple geographic locations with competing priorities and deployment schedules, to drive project completion

  • Experience managing tasks for the delivery of multiple concurrent projects

  • Works well in fast paced, high stress environments

  • Proficient knowledge of Agile process (Scrum methodology)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills needed to translate technical knowledge into business language

  • Ability to become a trusted advisor by building and managing relationships with business owners, field support teams, vendors and end users

  • Able to think analytically, tactically, strategically and holistically (depending on the scenario)

  • Proven problem solver

  • Good leadership skills and willing to share best practices

  • Follows Bridgestone Rules of the Road and operates with BSA IT principles

  • Preferred:

  • Experience architecting technical solutions for complex problems and delivering them to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Exposure to Microsoft software; primarily Hyper-V, SQL, Active Directory, Server Operating Systems and Terminal Server

  • Experience in working with 3rd parties to integrate software applications via Web Services and API calls

  • Experience with all phases of the SDLC and Agile software development practices
