The Procurement Manager for Bridgestone Retail Operations is responsible for managing assigned categories and teammates in all aspects of strategic sourcing including supplier relationship management and total cost of ownership while meeting internal customer requirements. The Procurement Manager will work with the Procurement Director to establish goals and objectives for the team that will have a direct impact on the operational results.
Leads assigned categories and teammates in all aspects of business management to deliver optimal value for internal business requirements and external supplier relationships and performance
Interacts with both supply base and internal customers to identify, implement, and realize cost reduction opportunities
Provides purchasing support to all Business Units and/or functional areas to ensure Procurement representation and participation in all issues related to meeting business supply requirements
Analyzes market trends and reports substantial issues and associated resolution plans to management to minimize the risk of interrupted supply
Develops strategies and work plans related to relevant Procurement processes and drives associated projects to successful completion
Identifies and resolves any issues related to quality, cost, and delivery to minimize the risk of interrupted supply
Manages and enhances supplier performance through standardized processes and continuous improvement efforts to obtain optimal results related to quality, cost, delivery, and service
Completes the following activities as required: data collection, market analysis, sourcing, cost model analysis, award, implementation across units, contract administration, and compliance monitoring
Plans and establishes goals and objectives for a team, with direct impact on the immediate or short-term operational results of the work area
Manages day-to-day elements of the budget including Retail Store Parts Inventory
Problems and issues faced may be technical in nature, and may require an understanding of Automotive Systems / Parts.
Responsible for making modifications in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of the work area
Explains policies, practices and procedures of the work area to others within the organization. May work to justify and gain cooperation of other parties on practices, policies and procedures
Bachelor’s degree required; technical degree a plus
7 plus years of automotive OEM, Tier-1 and or Aftermarket/Retail supplier or relevant procurement experience in direct and indirect materials, parts/components or services
Experience in supplier strategy development, strategic sourcing and procurement category management
Advanced negotiation strategy development and execution
Strong analytical and advanced planning skills
Strong leadership characteristics and communication skills required along with an ability to collaborate and build strong, working relationships with internal and external customers.
CPM certification preferred
ASE certification in eight functional areas preferred
