The Bridgestone Americas Law Department seeks a Real Estate paralegal for its North American Business Units (NABU) group. This will be a paralegal position in the Company’s Professional Band. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
NABU consists of five different business units: Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC. (BATO); Consumer Tire; BATO Commercial Tire; Firestone Building Products; Firestone Industrial Products and Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC.
This position will require skills and experience around real estate issues related to our retail operations and its approximately 2,230 stores as well as additional real estate responsibilities across all NABU business units. These responsibilities will include: title review, survey review, document review and deal closing; greenfield projects involving retail, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution; lease negotiations and existing portfolio support; new store development support and real estate litigation support.
Review, assist with and abstract contracts, loans, leases and operational matters
Track and confirm compliance with due diligence requirements in sales including TOOL sales
Assist in closing of property sales and finance matters including drafting closing documents and coordinate processes and dates with lender’s and seller’s counsel
Monitor post-closing requirements throughout construction period until store opening
Utilize strong organizational and drafting skills with minimal supervision
Assist with UCC filings
Title and survey review and analysis
Draft lease amendments, contracts and ancillary documentation
Prepare SNDAs and estoppels
Bachelor's degree preferred
At least 5 years experience as a real estate paralegal in a law firm or in-house is preferred
Qualified candidates will have paralegal level real estate transactional and business support experience as well as excellent credentials.
Expertise in retail real estate work – multiple locations, similar footprint in multiple states is preferred.
Strong communication and negotiation skills is preferred
